Nancy June Monhollen (Miller)
1942 - 2019
With profound sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Nancy June (Miller) Monhollen after a long and courageous battle with lung and brain cancer. Nancy was called to be with Jesus on 1/17/2019 with her loving family by her side. Nancy was born on June 21st 1942 in Charleston West Virginia daughter of the late Harry Lee Miller and Doris Louise (Webb) Mullins. Early in life Nancy moved to Toledo, Ohio where she received her education and attended Clay High School, Oregon, Ohio.
In 1964 Nancy met, what would be her lifetime partner Ernie (Ernest) Monhollen and on October 23, 1965 they were married. For over 53 years they made a home together for their family, which she dearly loved. Nancy was a devoted homemaker, thoughtful wife, caring mother, and number one supporter of her children and grandchildren’s endeavors scouting, school actives etc. She truly loved family gatherings, regularly sharing and hosting holidays and special occasions at her home. Her great love and passion was preparing and serving her home cooked meals for all the family to enjoy. Always the host and always last to sit down to eat, making sure everything was just right, and everyone was served before taking her place at the table, her family was the bedrock on which she built and lived her life.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 53 years, Ernie (Ernest) Monhollen. Three sons, Brian Ernest Monhollen, Gregory James (Christine) Monhollen, and Randall L. (Karen) Westhoven, from a previous marriage; Loving daughter Lori Louise (Robert) Ignatowicz; a brother, Robert L. Miller of Maumee, Ohio. Sisters; Cindy Barnes and Katherine Stambaugh of Walbridge, Ohio. Robin and Abigale Miller of Charleston, West Virginia.
Nancy enjoyed and loved special times and events spent with her grandchildren, Gregory James Monhollen, Cassandra Lynn Monhollen, Madison June Monhollen, Tessa (Lonnie) Harden, Allison Nicole (Jason) Peterson, Morgan Louise Smith, Austin John Smith, Leah Grace Ignatowicz and each and every one of her Great- grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father Harry L. Miller; mother Doris L. Mullins and Step father Walter J. Mullins.
Friends and loved ones may call and pay their respects from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday 1/20/2019 at the Capaul Funeral Home 8216 Ida West Rd. Ida, M. 48140 where she will lie-in- state. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday 1/21/2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Lulu Rd. Cemetery Ida, MI.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all of her friends and coworkers at Yanfen (JCI) Manufacturing of Monroe, MI. who have been so kind, generous, and supportive of her throughout her illness. She really appreciated each and every one of her coworkers and talked about them often. Also special thanks to all the Nurses, Aides, and Staff of Great Lakes Hospice of Adrain for their kind and gentle care.
