Naomi Jean Cevora (Layman), 91 yrs, of Monroe, died Thursday October 4, 2018, in Wellsprings Lutheran Services, Monroe, MI. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home Saturday October 6, 2018, from 3-7 PM. She will lie-in-state on Sunday October 7, 2018 in St. Peters Lutheran Church, Petersburg, MI, from 1 PM until the services at 2 PM. Pastor Mark Flory will officiate. A private burial in Pleasantview Cemetery, Petersburg, will take place at a later date.


Born March 6, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio. Naomi was the daughter of Clarence and Josephine (Haman) Layman. She was a 1945 Petersburg High School Graduate. She married Henry Cevora on September 7, 1945, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Petersburg, MI. Henry died Match 26, 1988. She worked for the VFW Petersburg as a waitress retiring in 1980. She also worked for Toledo Janitor Services and Dundee Concrete. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Petersburg, VFW of Petersburg, avid bingo player and loved horse racing, traveling and being a grand/great grandmother.


Survivors include: a son, Ronald (Amy) Cevora; daughters, Diana (Douglas) DuVall and Brenda (Michael) Wolfe; grandchildren, Deanna, Craig, Casey, Corey and a great-grandchild, Mikey. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Frances Hagen and Donna Nault.
