James E. Dusseau

1955 - 2018


James E. Dusseau, 62, of Bloomington, formerly of Ida, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at IU Health Bloomington Hospice House. He was born on December 8, 1955 in Ida, Michigan, the son of Ernest and Patricia (Nocella) Dusseau. Friends may gather at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Sunday February 4, 2018 from 2-8PM . He will lie in state on Monday February 5, 2018, in St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, from 10 AM until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ida, MI.

Jim graduated from Ida High School in 1974. He was honorably discharged following his retirement after 20 years of service from the United States Air Force. Jim later worked for 10 years with Lowe’s Home Improvement. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and fishing. He was a handyman who enjoyed remodeling and carpentry work. 

Jim is survived by his children, Rachel Dusseau, Jonathan Dusseau, Joshua (Kayla) Dusseau, Catharine (Craig) Fender, and Hope (Jarek Stanger) Dusseau; grandchildren, Riley Dusseau, Magdelyn Dusseau, Chester Fender, Casper Fender, and Isabel Stanger; siblings, Karen Bernard, Rose Funk, Jennifer Sype, and Patrick Dusseau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Martha Dusseau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made IU Health Bloomington Hospice House, through the IU Health Bloomington Hospital Foundation.
