John A. Gamble
1948 - 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of John A. Gamble, 69, of Petersburg, Michigan, announce his passing on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, Ohio after a long and courageous battle with cancer. John was the youngest of nine children, born on July 7th, 1948 in Carlton, Michigan to Harold and Dorothy Gamble. He attended Airport High School. There will be no visitation or services per John’s wishes. Cremation has occurred.
John was best known for his hard-work ethics and attention to detail. He worked at the GM Toledo Plant for 30 years and enjoyed nearly 19 years of retirement, doing what he loved best. John was an avid hunter and taxidermist. He also enjoyed woodworking, going to the casino, dreaming up and creating his own inventions and he especially relished spending time with his grandsons. John is survived by his beloved life partner, Miki Burge; two daughters, Annette Rumler and Lisa (Frank) Davenport; one step daughter, Nancy (Dana) Sparks; two sisters, Myra (Jack) Clark and Sirena (Louie) Mandelka. He was the loving “Papa” to seven grandsons, whom were his pride and joy; Tyler (Jessalyn) Rumler, Dylan (Sam) Rumler, Daniel Rumler, Dakota Sparks, Jesse Sparks, Frank Davenport and Chris Davenport. John also leaves behind close friends, Randy (Puddy) and Pam Pudvan. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Emma Haines, Gertie Dunn, Lorretta Kropff and Edna Schuyler and two brothers, George Gamble and Jerry Gamble.
