Linda Elaine McDowell (Eubank)
February 23rd, 1941 - May 30th, 2021
Linda Elaine (Eubank) McDowell passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2021, at the age of 80. Linda had been in declining health for a number of years, and most recently under the care of ProMedica Hospice after a discharge from the hospital in early May. She died with her daughters at her side.
Linda was born in Laura, Ohio on February 23, 1941, an only child, to Fenton & Mildred (Gall) Eubank, who preceded her in death. Her maternal & paternal grandparents also preceded her in death, as well as various aunts, uncles, and a special cousin, Preston Mote, as well as her beloved dog, Chauncey Girl.
Linda graduated from Milton Union High School in West Milton, Ohio, in 1959, and married Mickey Hill in 1962. Lisa Michele Hill and Karmen Kaye (Hill) Way, were born of this union. Linda would later become remarried to Charlie (“Monty”) McDowell on July 28, 1978, and she, Monty, and the girls relocated from West Milton to Ida, Michigan, in 1979, where she lived until Monty’s death on August 30, 1999. She then moved to Monroe, Michigan, where she resided until her death.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hill, of Florida (who had moved back temporarily in June of 2019 to help care for her), daughter, Karmen (Bill) Way of Monroe, Michigan, grandsons, Anthony & Zachary Hill, both of Florida, Jesse & Nathan Way, both of Monroe, Michigan, and great-granddaughters, Londyn Nettles & Audrianna Banks, both of Florida.
A private graveside service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Petersburg, Michigan, where she will be laid to rest next to her loving husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Humane Society of Monroe County, Michigan.
