Deborah Ann Atherton (Atkinson)

Deborah Ann Atherton (Atkinson), age 70 of Petersburg, MI, passed Sunday April 3rd, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, OH after a long illness. She is survived by her life partner of 30 years, Steve Scheiber and longtime friend of 15 years, Sue Brown as her family. There will be a visitation on Friday April 8, 2022, from 10 AM until the graveside service at 11AM at Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI. Fr. Gerard Cupple of St. Gabriel Catholic Parish will officiate.

Debbie was born in Highland Park, Wayne County, MI. To Edmond and Olga Atkinson. She was without siblings and both parents preceded her in death. Debbie grew up and was educated in Wyandotte, MI. a 1969 Graduate of Gabriel Richard High School, Riverview, MI. She received her nursing diploma from Mercy School of Nursing in Detroit, MI, in 1971.

Debbie worked for 50 years as a registered nurse in hospital, home care, hospice and recently the last 15 years with Villa Nursing Home (Previously Bortz) Ypsilanti, Mi. Debbie enjoyed fishing, traveling, University of Michigan Football, NASCAR and casino trips. She was a loving and caring person who never sweated the small stuff in life. To know her was to love her.
