Janice Lee (Winter) LaRee

Janice Lee (Winter) LaRee – 83 years of Petersburg, MI – died Sunday December 4th, 2022, at her home. Visitation will be held at Petersburg United Methodist Church in Petersburg, MI on Monday December 12th, 2022, from 10am-11am. The funeral service will commence immediately after the visitation at 11am. Pastor Keith Lenard will officiate. Burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery in Petersburg, MI.

Born January 15th, 1939, in Toledo, OH – Janice was the daughter of George and Neva (Pruden) Winter. She was a Summerfield High School graduate. After high school, Janice was awarded a master’s degree in education at Adrian College. Janice loved teaching and spent 33 years working at Summerfield Elementary School. Working with both children and adults through education, she sculpted minds and inspired futures. She married Corlly LaRee on May 7th, 1960, in Jackson, MI. Corlly died on December 6th, 2015. When Janice wasn’t teaching, she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, knitting, coloring, talking on the phone, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Survivors include: her son Mark (Deardra) LaRee, her grandchildren Hamilton (Jamie) LaRee, Logan (Samuel) Davis, and Katherine (Iris) LaRee, and her great-grandchild Benjamin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Corlly.
