August 5th, 1934 - February 16th, 2022 Katherine Marie Gaertner (Judit), 87 yrs, of Petersburg, MI, died Wednesday February 16, 2022, in Aiello Adult Foster Care, New Boston, MI. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Wednesday February 23, 2022, from 2-8PM. She will lie-in-state on Thursday February 24, 2022, from 10 AM until the services at 11AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Petersburg, MI. Pastor Mark Flory will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery, Petersburg, MI. Born August 5, 1934 in Toledo, OH. Katherine was the daughter of Arnold and Mary (Stanger) Judit. She was a 1952 Petersburg High School Graduate. Katherine married Leroy Gaertner on June 13, 1953 in Petersburg, MI. Leroy died September 13, 2008. Katherine was a homemaker all her life. She owned Kate’s Klay and Kiln Ceramic Shop for 7 years and was a teacher’s aid for the 3rd grade at Summerfield Elementary. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church Petersburg and St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Adrian, a member of the Lutheran Women's Mission Society, Sewing Ladies out of Adrian/Petersburg, 4H Leader and Builders for Christ. Survivors include: her daughters, Karen Breitner, Lori Himburg; son-in-law, Tim Doyle; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, April, Trevor, Mykel, Carly, Danyelle, Tanner and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Lisa Doyle, brothers, Jim, Tom, Ron Judit and great-grandchild Karter. Katherine’s wish in lieu of flowers—
