Virginia (Jenny) Alice Berger (Wohlgamuth)

Virginia (Jenny) Alice Berger (Wohlgamuth) 95 yrs, of Deerfield, died Thursday December 8, 2022, in Hampton Manor, Dundee, MI. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Thursday December 15, 2022, from 3-7PM. She will lie-in-state on Friday December 16, 2022, at Petersburg United Methodist Church, Petersburg, MI, from 10 AM until the services at 11 AM. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.

Born March 9, 1927, in Deerfield, MI, Jenny was the daughter of Alby and Minnie (Curlis) Wohlgamuth. She was a 1945 Petersburg High School Graduate. She previously was married to Wilbur Layman and later married William Berger Jr. on April 19, 1991. William died November 10, 2022. She worked in the kitchen at Summerfield Schools and previously worked for Wolverine Plastics and Sister Skillet. Jenny loved to Bowl, ride her bicycle, help cook at roast beef dinners and bake homemade donuts and rolls.

Survivors include: children, Thomas (Kathy) Layman, Joyce (Darrel) Braunscheidel, Jeanne (Donald) Davis; sister, Annabel Rumler; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and the Breitner children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Betty Degner, Helen Braun, Vera Hinkelman, Bus Wohlgamuth, Harry Wohlgamuth, Mable Crowe, and Viola Kerstetter.
