Wayne Frances Clark

Wayne Frances Clark, 79 yrs, of Ida Township, passed away Wednesday June 8, 2022, at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Friday June 17, 2022, from 2-7PM. There will be a private burial of cremains on a later date at Lulu Cemetery, Ida, MI.

Born April 13, 1943, in Toledo, OH. Wayne was the son of Maurice and Leona (Knaggs) Clark. He was a 1960 Ida High School Graduate. Wayne married Dollie Koch on September 9, 1978, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, MI. Wayne was a self-employed farmer and owned Clark’s Greenhouse for over 50 years. He previously worked for DANA Corporation from 1963-1973 and also from 1978-1979.

Wayne loved building new equipment that he used in his produce farming as well as his greenhouse enterprise. He enjoyed being in his barn, creating projects, welding and building airplanes. He owned 8 airplanes over the years, and built 4 airplanes in his barn. His greatest passion was flying. Wayne had his instrument/instructor rating and flew for Crow Aviation at Toledo Express from 1970-1977. He enjoyed passing on his love for flight with all of his students. He also enjoyed golfing, his Kubota Tractor, and his cauliflower & cabbage fields. Wayne was a very loving, kind, and extremely hard working man. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors include: His wife Dollie; children, Kristie (James Stephens) Clark, Aaron (Alaina) Clark, Kim (Neal) Hopkins, Shelly (Rick) Gorowski; sisters, Phyllis (Gary) Petee, Vivian (Terry) Roach, and Mary (Dennis) Stark; grandchildren, Hayden Stephens, Hannah Clark, Emmett Clark, Ella Clark, April (Nathan) Devos, Tanner Hopkins, Jake Gorowski, Josh Gorowski and great-grandchildren, Ally Devos, Annie Devos and Aubrey Devos. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dr. Bruce Clark and Shirley Cousino.
