Daniel Steven Manders

Daniel Steven Manders, 55 years of age, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023 at his sister’s home surrounded by his loving siblings. He was born on March 8, 1968 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. He grew up in Petersburg, Michigan alongside his four sisters and one brother.

Dan graduated from Summerfield High School in 1986 and attended The University of Toledo earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Cum Laude on June 1991. He is a member of the Tau Beta Pi Association. He had a beautiful home that he loved in Petersburg, Michigan.

He worked at Dana Corporation in Toledo, Ohio prior to working for 30 years at FAAC, Inc. in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he served as Image Generation Software Manager and Lead Engineer, Arotech Training and Simulation Division.

He had a wonderful group of close friends in which they traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Gibraltar, Great Britain, France, and in the USA out West and Up North.  He enjoyed online computer gaming, golf, scuba diving, camping, fishing, and hiking.

Dan is survived by Judy Manders, Bonnie (Keith) Loveday, Sandy (Bob) Heskett, Michael Manders, Carla (Brett) Smith.  Uncle to Liz (Tony ) Clark, Emily (Kyle) Vanuch, David (Shannon) Heskett, Nick (Sara) Manders, Bryce Smith, Ryan Smith, and Nicole Loveday. Great-Uncle to Axel and Addilyn Vanuch, and Elena Clark. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lerene (Diroff) Manders.

Dan was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Gabriel Parish in Ida, Michigan. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 31 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Capaul Funeral Home (8216 Ida West Road, Ida, MI 48140) with the rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral on Thursday, June 1 at St. Gabriel Parish  (St. Joseph’s Catholic Church) 8295 Van Aiken Street, Ida, MI 48140 with visitation (in-state) at 10:00 am, some words from the family at 10:45 am, with mass at 11:00 am followed by a luncheon at the church hall.
