James Edward Meinhart

James Edward Meinhart – 57 years of Carleton, MI – passed after his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Monroe Springs Rehab & Nursing Center.  Family and friends may visit Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 2pm until the funeral service commences at 7pm.  Please feel free to wear Hawaiian shirts / attire at the funeral as part of his last wishes.  Pastor Scott Reed will officiate.  Cremation will take place sometime after the funeral.

Born on April 16, 1966 – in Monroe, MI – James was the son of Harry and Rosemary (Reichert) Meinhart.  He was a 1984 Monroe High School graduate.  After graduating, James joined the Marine Corp.  He spent 20 years working for Target Heating & Cooling as an HVAC Technician.  James married Joan Abrams on June 28, 1993, in Toledo, OH.  When he wasn’t working, James enjoyed billiards, hunting, playing cards, vacationing Up North, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Joan, his son Brandon (Tayler) Meinhart, his daughter Chelsea Meinhart, his sister Kimberly (Randy) Clawson, and his beloved dog Hank.  He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Rosemary.

Memorial contributions can be made out to Monroe Humane Society and/or Camp Lejeune Justice Act.
