Scott Joseph Songalewski

Scott Joseph Songalewski – 70 years of Maybee, MI – passed away on Saturday December 23, 2023, at Regency Villa Center (Taylor, MI). Family and friends may visit Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Friday January 5, 2024, from 2pm until the Memorial Gathering commences at 7pm.

Born on April 23, 1953 – in Monroe, MI – Scott was the son of Theodore and Wilma (LeBlanc)

Songalewski. He attended Monroe High School. He worked for Rocky’s Roofing for 30 years as a professional roofer, retiring in 2019. In addition, he was a member of the Roofer’s Union. When Scott wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, demolition derbies, billiards, playing music, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Scott has two beloved brothers Jesse (Cathy) Songalewski and Dean (Kelli) Songalewski.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and infant sisters Marie and Janna.

He was married to Linda (Iott) Songalewski from 1974-1996 and they had two children, a son Ryan (Megan) Songalewski and daughter Rachel (Zac Longfellow), grandson Matthew, granddaughter Aubrey, and great-grandchild Hunter.

Later he met his forever companion Nanna Owens and gained two sons Larry (Ashley Morse) Owens and Gary (Carrie) Owens, two daughters Andrea (Jason) Heinzerling and Amanda Owens, 8 grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren.
