Vonda Gay Ladd (Younce)

Vonda Gay Ladd (Younce) age 86, of Petersburg, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

The daughter of Sylvester and Rebecca (Garrett) Younce, Vonda was born January 26, 1937, in Pikeville, Kentucky.

After graduating in 1955 from Pikeville High School, she moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she met her husband, also from Kentucky, of 50 years, Billy J. Ladd.  She spent her life as a homemaker, caring for those around her and making delicious meals; there was always enough food, if you stopped by at mealtime.  She was a great cook and always a fun person to be around.

She later became "Mamaw' to her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  Having never met a stranger, she spent her life bringing love and laughter she would light up a room - touching the lives of those she encountered. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Penny (Daniel) Wozniak, Tammy (Steven) Gruber; five grandchildren Abby (Eric), Bridget (Jeff), Erika (Jeff), Steven II (Corinne), Chelsea (Jacob) and 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sylvester Junior Younce and Wendell Younce and two sisters, Dottie Hastings, Trena Ratliff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Delmon, Gennis and Cleidth Younce.

A private celebration of life date yet to be determined.
