Delores “Dianne” (Weller) Spare

Delores “Dianne” (Weller) Spare – 89 years of Dundee, MI – died on Tuesday November 26, 2024, at her home, under hospice care, surrounded by family. Cremation has occurred. Friends and family may visit Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Thursday December 5, 2024, from 12pm until the memorial service commences at 2pm. Reverend Gayle Catinella will officiate.
Born on October 4, 1935 – in Toledo, OH – Dianne was the daughter of Vincent and Catherine (Mepham) Weller. She was a 1953 DeVilbiss High School (Toledo, OH) graduate. After graduating from high school, Dianne attended Stautzenberger College (Maumee, OH). She worked at Deka Scale, Inc. (Toledo, OH) for 20 years as a secretary, retiring in 2000. Dianne married Gerald Spare on September 24, 1965, in Monroe, MI. Gerald passed away on November 28, 2008. When she wasn’t working, Dianne enjoyed visiting new places, she especially loved her trip to Alaska where she & Gerry, drove their truck and Airstream trailer from Michigan. She enjoyed doing things for her family, anything from being the taxi service for the grandkids, to hosting events, attending sports, activities, and taking care of mundane tasks like laundry, and dishes. Family was everything. She spent lots of time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, playing cards, Yahtzee, going to Disney movies, Cedar Point, and the Toledo Zoo.
Survivors include her sons William (Sheryl) Reed, Robert Reed, and Michael (Janet) Spare, her daughters Denise Perkins, Sandra (Keith) Walters, and Susan (Ronald) Witt, her brothers Kenneth (Gail) Weller and Gerald (Cheryl) Weller, her grandchildren Leslie, Emily, Jennifer (Aaron), Matthew (Jenn), Sarah (Bobby), Kelsea (Scott), Derrek, Carrie, McKenzie (Kenny), Sommer (John), Haley (Jim), Hannah (Brent), Heather, Adam, Olivia (Ryan), Sarah, Emma (Cole), Kevin (MacKenzie), and Cara (Tanner), her 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 on the way. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her grandson Dale Bagby, and her siblings David Weller Constance Mullikin.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Michael Episcopal Church and / or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
