Frederick “Budd” James Billmaier Jr.

Frederick “Budd” James Billmaier Jr., 73 yrs. of Ida, MI, died Friday April 19, 2024, in ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital, Monroe, MI. Following Budd’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation has occurred.

Born December 31, 1950, in Monroe, MI., Budd was the son of Frederick Sr. and Mary (Schmidt) Billmaier. He was a graduate of Erie Mason High School who later earned his Associates Degree from Monroe County Community College. He served with the US Army from April 1970 - December 1971. Budd married Karen Kelemen on October 23, 1976, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ida, MI. Karen died on May 12th, 2018. Budd was a machinist for Detroit Stoker Company for 31 yrs. Budd enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, watching Star Trek, fishing, camping, and completing the New York Times crossword puzzles. 

He is survived by his children: Sarah (Pamela Toman) Billmaier; Frederick (Anna) Billmaier III; grandchildren: Evan James Billmaier, Caleb Charles Billmaier, and Aila Corinne Billmaier Toman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters: Mary "Boots" Prater, Kathryn Johnson, and Margaret “Sis” Hatfield, and four brothers: Bill Schmidt, Harold Schmidt, Richard Schmidt, and Donnie Schmidt.
