Gary Gene Brockman

Gary Gene Brockman, age 88, of Dundee passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. He was preceded by his wife, Jeanette, brother, Giles Robert, and his parents, Giles and Dorothy (Peters) Brockman. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI; Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 4- 8 pm. He will lie-in-state on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 10:00 am until the service at 11 am at St. John Lutheran Church, Dundee, MI. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dundee. MI.

To cherish his memory he leaves one daughter, Karen (Tim) Scholl, four grandchildren, Lauren (Chris Antalek) Scholl, Brad (Tehya) Scholl, Nate (Lauren Kreps) Scholl and Drew (Kelsey) Scholl and one great grandson, Ryker.

Gary was born on October 25, 1935, in Petersburg, MI. He was one of two children born to Giles and Dorothy (Peters) Brockman. Gary graduated from Dundee High School in 1954. After graduation, Gary enlisted in the United States Air Force. He married Jeanette (Helle) on October 9, 1959. Gary and Jeanette celebrated sixty-five years of marriage.

Gary was employed at Dundee Cement Company as a heavy equipment operator and retired after 38 years.  Gary was involved in Dundee Care and Share, Monroe Car Club, Dundee Area Senior Citizen Center, and was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time outside, taking care of his lawn, and attending car shows. Gary and Jeanette enjoyed traveling, flea markets, attending their grandchildren’s school and sporting events, and spending time at their lake house.
