Llewellyn “Corky” Victor Leaper

July 15, 1941 - June 24, 2024

Llewellyn “Corky” Victor Leaper – 82 years of Ida, MI – died on Monday June 24, 2024, at his residence under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio.  Family and friends may visit Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Monday July 1, 2024, from 2pm to 8pm.  Corky will lie-in-state at Cornerstone Baptist Church (Ida, MI) on Tuesday July 2, 2024, from 8am until the funeral service commences at 9am.  Immediately following the funeral service, Corky’s burial will take place at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery (Petersburg, MI).  Pastor Mark McCaskill will officiate.

 

Born on July 15, 1941 – in Temperance, MI – Corky was the son of Victor and Edith (Schultz) Leaper.  He was a 1959 Ida High School graduate.  For 37 years, Corky worked for GM Hydromatic (Toledo, OH) as a line-worker, retiring in 1999.  He married Billie Coleman on April 18, 1980, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (Petersburg, MI).  Billie passed away on April 23, 2023.  He was a member of the NRA.  When he wasn’t working, Corky enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing, camping, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

 

Survivors include his sons Kevin (Shirley) Leaper and David (Beth) McAllister, his daughters Vicky Leaper and Kimberly (Jeff) Wallen, his brother Phillip (Joan) Leaper, his sister Bonna Smith, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Corky was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his son Gary McAllister.
