Valerie Diane (Goodman) Nolan

Valerie Diane (Goodman) Nolan – 62 years of Monroe, MI – died on Thursday March 20, 2025, at ProMedica Regional Hospital (Monroe, MI).  Family and friends may visit Capaul Funeral Home (Ida, MI) on Thursday March 27, 2025, from 4pm to 8pm.  Valerie will lie-in-state at Capaul Funeral Home on Friday March 28, 2025, from 10am until the funeral service commences at 11am.  Cremation will take place after the funeral.

Born on July 17, 1962 – in Orlando, FL – Valerie was a daughter of Robert and Roseanne (Smith) Goodman.  She attended Roosevelt High School (Portland, OR) and Monroe County Community College (Monroe, MI). 

Valerie worked as a secretary for Ida Veterinary Clinic (Ida, MI) for 38 years.  She was active in Monroe County and Lenawee County 4-H for many years. She married Michael Nolan on May 9, 1981, in Portland, OR.  When she wasn’t working, Valerie enjoyed ghost hunting, her membership in the KAPPA Solstice car club, being a certified SCUBA diver, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Michael, her daughter Emily (David) Anderson, her son Matthew Nolan, her brothers Daniel and Cory Goodman, her sister Marcie Franklin, and her grandchildren Camden, Morgan, and Kaylee Anderson.  Valerie was preceded in death by her parents.
